Built for Invitations, Announcements, and Keepsake Mailings

A2 invitation envelopes are sized to fit cards and enclosures up to 4-1/4" x 5-1/2", making them the right match for wedding invitations, greeting cards, photo announcements, and other keepsake mailings. Each envelope ships with a square flap and a gum seal, printed on 24# white wove stock. Full color printing is available on the front and back flap, so your monogram, logo, or return address prints directly on the envelope instead of a separate label.

What's Included with Every A2 Envelope Order

Every A2 envelope order starts with 24# white wove stock, a clean, professional base that holds ink well and feels substantial in hand. Envelopes ship with a square flap and a water-soluble gum seal, the same finishing used across the U.S. Press invitation envelope line. Full color printing is standard on the front, and you can add matching full color printing to the back flap for a return address, monogram, or small logo. If you'd rather keep the back flap blank, that's available too. Either way, A2 envelopes print without bleed, so keep artwork at least 1/8 inch inside the trim edge on every side.

Preparing Your Artwork

Print-ready PDFs are the preferred file format for A2 envelope printing. Build your file at the envelope's final trim size, keep a minimum 1/8 inch safe margin blank on every side, and set artwork resolution to 300 PPI so text and fine details print sharp. Because A2 envelopes print without bleed, avoid extending background colors or images past the trim edge. If you're not ready to submit a finished file, the online design tool walks you through sizing and margins as you build your layout.

Order in the Quantities Your Mailing Requires

A2 Envelopes FAQ

What size is an A2 envelope?

A2 envelopes measure 4-3/8" x 5-3/4" on the outside and hold cards or inserts up to 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".

Can I order custom A2 envelopes in bulk?

Yes. U.S. Press prints A2 envelopes in quantities that scale from small event runs to large mailing programs, with full color printing available on the front and back flap.

What's the difference between A2 and A7 invitation envelopes?

A2 envelopes fit cards and announcements up to 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". For larger pieces up to 5" x 7", U.S. Press also offers A7 envelopes, which use the same square flap and gum seal.

How do A2 envelopes seal?

A2 envelopes use a water-soluble gum strip. If you're printing a large quantity and don't want to lick each one closed, a sponge or damp cotton works as well, just avoid oversaturating the strip.

What paper stock are A2 envelopes printed on?

A2 envelopes are printed on 24# white wove stock, a clean, versatile paper that works well for invitations, announcements, and greeting cards.

Can I print on the back flap of my A2 envelope?

Yes. Full color printing on the back flap is available in addition to the front, so you can add a return address, monogram, or logo. A blank back flap is also available if you prefer a simpler look.

Proofing: After you place your order and upload your artwork, our prepress team will begin inspecting your files to ensure your document size, bleed lines, margins, image resolution, and more are correct in order for the best print quality. They will email you a soft proof (PDF) for your approval prior to printing. Most proofs are sent within 1 business day of order placement; more complex art files can sometimes take longer. Soft proofing is an easy way to see what your finished product will look like and make sure the content is correct. However, soft proofing is not intended for exact color matching. Every monitor displays color differently, and on backlit screens, colors may appear lighter than the actual colors contained in your files. If color matching is critical, please give us a call at 800-227-7377 to order a hard proof.

Production Time: Production time begins after proof approval and is the time required to produce your order before it ships. It is calculated in business days, starting at the next occurrence of 9:00 AM Eastern on the 1st business day after the proof is approved. U.S. Press is closed Saturdays, Sundays and all major holidays; thus, these days are not included in the production schedule.

Shipping Transit Time: Once production is complete, your order will ship out via the shipping method you select at checkout. All of our orders ship from our location in Valdosta, Georgia.
